The weekend is winding down and as I think ahead to this week, it will be a busy one in the weather center. We've noticed a pattern or trend where it is dry in the day and storms occur at night. That same pattern will repeat itself again this week and some of us will get some heavy rainfall. We're not too worried about severe weather, but there's going to be some pockets of serious rainfall. This cool weather is probably going to make for an outstanding corn crop.
After the storms rolled through last Monday night, we had a couple of people stop by the station and hand deliver some storm shots. One of the picture in particular was quite fascinating to us here at KWCH. It is a beautiful shot of lightning right over the tower at 37th and Hillside. It takes some patience when trying to get pictures of lightning, but if you wait just long enough, you can get some really interesting shots of it. Of course, it's very dangerous too, so be careful.
It won't be long before school starts up again. Where is the summer going?
Have a great week.

My oh my will the crops be good this fall!? I haven't even had to water the lawn yet this summer! Ross, when do you think we will "pay" for the nice weather this summer? An extremely hot fall, or a deadly cold winter? You know mother nature (in Kansas) is pulling a fast one on us here...
Hey Weatherman Ross...
You have some really cool weather pictures on your blog!
