Huge changes now and next week!

Good Friday morning! It's the start of the Kansas State Fair AND... autumn? Well, officially we still have a few weeks left of summer, but the weather we are about to see over the next 10-12 days will definitely resemble that of fall. Based on what I'm hearing on Twitter and Facebook, most of  you are ready to be done with the humidity and excited for the cool down, but I know not everyone feels that way.
Temperatures as of 7 a.m.
The cold front as of 7:30 a.m. is just south of Wichita and continuing to move south. Rain and a few storms will continue to move across Kansas into the afternoon and evening. It's unlikely we will have any big 2 or 3 inch rains out of this activity, but some .50-1" amounts can be expected.

Saturday looks really nice in Kansas. Lower humidity, highs in the 70s, and sunshine can all be expected if heading to the state fair.

A slight warming trend is expected early next week
We will start warming up some on Sunday, but the temperatures will still be a little below normal. And there is a chance Sunday night for scattered storms over central and northern Kansas as the humidity starts to increase once again.

A HUGE shot of chilly air will be sinking south at the end of next week
There are several chances for rain next week. In fact, it's possible we will have storms Monday - Wednesday around the area and that will also be the warmest part of the week. But a very strong cold front is going to move through Wednesday night or Thursday, and look at the big chunk of cool air that settles in from Kansas across the upper Midwest. Wow! This is going to be amazing to watch. Record cool temperatures are certainly possible. It's safe to say the end of next week will feel every bit like fall.
Have a great weekend.
