There is another storm system that will go from West coast to East coast over the next week. Although it won't be bringing any big snow to Kansas, it will be the culprit for dragging MUCH colder weather back into the Plains.
You can see where this storm will be on Saturday:
Sunday, the storm will be passing through the northern Rockies:
This particular model has Kansas fairly cloudy, but I expect we will have a little more sunshine than what is shown here. However, any snow chance will be staying north of us.

Monday, the system should be tracking through the Great Lakes and headed on east:
How cold are we talking?
Tuesday should be the coldest day of the week when many of us will have single digit wind chills and highs most likely won't be getting out of the 30s. It's typical to have something like this in December, and if you absolutely aren't a fan of the cold weather, you'll be happy to know it moves on by midweek.

White Christmas?
We haven't drawn any conclusions yet, but next week, we will start the discussion about the chances for it this year. I will leave you with this though - temperatures into Christmas week look COLDER than normal. We may see several days with highs in the 30s and 40s around the holiday itself, but we don't know yet about snow. So one of the essential ingredients should be there - cold air. But will the moisture be there? Stay tuned and have a great weekend.
