Freezing temperatures aren't over yet

We are closing in on the average last spring freeze for many areas, but we still have more sub-freezing temperatures and some SNOW in the forecast before this week is out. Just look at when the typical last freeze happens and you'll see, these late cold snaps aren't anything out of the ordinary.

Early Wednesday:
A hard freeze is looking likely for many areas as skies remain clear and the winds die down. Low temperatures should fall into the 20s.

More freezing weather Friday-Saturday:
Winter is refusing to give up and we are headed back to some very cold weather at the end of the week. There's even a chance we will see some light snow move into western and northern Kansas by Friday afternoon. Temperatures are likely to get stuck in the 30s for highs.

And by Saturday morning, most of us are back down in the 20s.

Freeze Records:
Dropping into the 20s later this week won't set any records for late freezes. Most of those records go into mid May, which would be very late

Have a great day and thanks for spending a few minutes reading the blog.

What happened to the rain chances that you talked about in your blog Friday? Just curious.

Rain chances are still there for Friday. However, the heavier amounts that I was hoping would develop and move through Kansas have shifted south (again). It's very frustrating, but we will continue to watch this developing storm.
