We still expect a few storms tonight (Wednesday) and there is still a chance for some rain and storms Thursday. But once again, the forecast models take the heavier amounts of rain to the east. Don't get me wrong, we will take anything we can get, but a good soaking rain is probably not meant to be with this go around.
3:30 a.m. Thursday - very spotty activity |
Some slight potential for a few severe storms, especially early Thursday evening. |
So here are some snapshots in time from the Future Track model showing a small batch of rain for south central Kansas very early Thursday morning. The cold front coming in Thursday evening should bring some additional rain to the area. I'm still confident in saying that the best chance to see anything at all is southeast of a line from Salina to Hutch to Medicine Lodge. Western Kansas (other than a few sprinkles) will get missed by the rain altogether.
Rain chances are over with by Friday with sunshine and a nice afternoon. |
After our chance Thursday, we will have to wait and see what Mother's Day will bring to the area. There is still a chance for some moisture, especially Sunday night, but here again, the chance looked so good just a day or two ago, and now, there is some question as to whether or not we will get moisture at the end of the weekend. Frustrating for sure.
