Potential for heavy rainfall

From Kathy Rogers - Pretty Prairie
The moon put on quite a show this morning. When I got up to look for it, I had to wait for a cloud to get out of my way. I watched it for a few minutes and then decided sleep was more important.

As we have been advertising throughout the week, rain is on the way to Kansas, and due to the tropical connection (what was Hurricane Simon), we stand a chance of a good soaking rain. Forecast models have been showing some of the heaviest over southern Kansas, but now, it looks as if much of central and eastern Kansas will see 1-2" amounts. Western Kansas will get rain too, but I would expect .50-1" for most areas.

Generous rainfall on the way to Kansas
There will be a stationary front draped over the area through Friday night, and we should have several rounds of rain tracking across the area. Most likely going to be a wet and cool evening for high school football Friday evening, but some of us really need rain, so we are happy to see the moisture coming this way.
Stalled front should be around through Friday helping produce the heavy amounts of rain

Have a good Wednesday.
