Choosing the Right Words

Okay, so another round of wintry weather is coming and this one will be very significant. What we know for sure is there will be precipitation in Kansas beginning Monday and continuing into Wednesday morning. The uncertainty that we have tonight is in the surface temperatures. We could see temperatures around 32 on Tuesday, which may reduce some of the ice accumulations. Either way, this looks like a significant winter storm and we will be tracking it the next few days. Merril is off this week, so I'll be here to answer any questions that you might have. As much as we want to say this is going to be just as bad as January 2005 ice storm, we have to be careful to choose the right words and not force you into a panic that the world is ending with this ice storm. Just plan and be prepared for the worst, and hope that it doesn't turn out as bad as 3 years ago.

Send me an email if you have questions about the storm, rjanssen@kwch.com and I'll try and follow up with you.

I attended the Trans Siberian Orchestra concert Friday night out at the Kansas Coliseum. It was a great concert and the music was very good. If you attended the concert, you know what I'm talking about. Have a good week (aside from any ice that we might get)

Wasn't the concert great? I also went the last time they were here and had a fantastic time! This one was even better, despite being the same show as before. I hope that we don't as much ice as we did in 2005, I hated it! I suggest that humans begin migrating south for the winter like the birds do.

Ross, Is it just me, or is the radar in motion here on the website stuck on the early morning hours of Saturday? Maybe I am the only one this is happening to, but during storm situations, I like to watch the radar and I keep getting the same loop over and over all weekend long!I hope Merrill has a nice week off. Hopefully he is somewhere warm! It will be nice to have you with us all week Ross!

I know you just forecast the weather, not create it, but THANK YOU! I got just what I wanted...a snow day. (If the meteorologist thing doesn't work out, maybe you could get a job as Santa.) I hope Merrill is enjoying his time off. You're doing a great job filling in!
