Finishing Touches

I fell behind in my blogging this week. The weather special has us VERY busy, but I know it will definitely pay off. I've had a sneak peek at the show and it looks GOOD. Kevin Hager is the producer for the show and he always does an outstanding job with the special effects. This year our show will focus on Greensburg, but there are many different angles that each member of the Storm Team will cover. It will run Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m.

We had our first bout with severe weather on Sunday. In case you missed our Sunday night late show, we had our first tornado touchdown of the year in Kansas. Our contest that we started on the blog is not over though, because there was no official tornado warning in effect. The radar showed mostly wind, which is most likely why we didn't have a tornado warning in effect. Storm spotters would've played a crucial role in this warning process, which is why they are so important. Radar can only show us so much, and in this case, it didn't look like the storm would produce a tornado. Fortunately, no one was hurt, the damage was very minimal, and the tornado was not on the ground very long.
A long day is coming to an end. I'll be back on the air Saturday evening. Have a good rest of the week!

Hi!
I was wondering about that tornado that touched down in Kansas. Wasn't sure if it had an effect on the contest or not since no warnings were sent out. (Glad to hear the contest is still going on =)

I am not enjoying this cold weather again. Seems like once we get a little hint of spring weather, it leaves us for a while. Good thing springs is almost here, although I dont know if it will change the weather pattern. (So its also a good thing I leave for Florida March 27th =)

My birthday was good, Ty, thanks for asking. Another year older haha. Oh well, thats life. As long as I dont act it, which I dont! Good to hear everything is going well at home with baby!! (and good to hear the other "children" have adapted well!)

Hope everyone is staying warm, AGAIN and maybe the weekend will stay around while longer!

What a cool picture of the tornado this past weekend. I'm glad it was small, and didn't cause much damage. Seeing the emergence of this kind of weather so early in the year does make me a little worrisome as to what's to come tho'.

Melissa, I love the pic of you and Rodeo. Very cute. Glad you had a nice birthday. Where in Florida will you be going? Sounds like lots of fun.

Glad to know that Caden is fitting in with all the other "kids" at your house Ty. How funny that the dog is mimicking Cadens cry! Maybe he just wants to make sure you hear him! Glad you are all doing well.

Today (thursday) seems to be a very good day so far, very little wind, and not too cold. Better get the dogs out for a walk as it may be too cold tomorrow. Here's hoping that everyone stays warm, and if we don't hear from you, have a very Happy Birthday Ty!
