Spring Is Here

If you are reading the blog, then you should know that spring weather is here. The weather pattern the next 8-10 days will allow us to see more 50s, 60s, and 70s. The warmer 70s will stay in western Kansas for the most part. We are evening going to have a chance for thunderstorms on Wednesday in the eastern part of the state. It will most likely not be severe, so we are thankful for that.

The upcoming week is Kansas Severe Weather Awareness Week. The statewide tornado drill will take place on Tuesday and if I remember right, it's at 1:30 p.m. Then at 6:30 that night, we will have our annual "Eye on the Storm" weather special. It should be pretty informative and we hope you like it. Something else to look for this week... our newest addition to the Storm Team will make her debut. Ayna Sehgal will be on the air next week making her first appearance on FOX as early as Wednesday night. We are excited to be up to full strength going into the severe weather season.

This radar image is from 9:30 Saturday night. Some places in northern New York have had over 15 inches of snow, while other areas have some flooding rainfall. Buffalo, NY has had 90.4 inches of snow so far this season. It makes our 22.1 inches of snow seem like nothing here in Wichita.

Well I am glad that spring weather is here for a while and the cold weather is done. Glad to hear Ross, that your weather team is back up to full strength once again.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. After looking at the hi-lights of the school basketball championship I missed out on some great games all around the state at the different classes.

Have a great rest of your weekend everyone!

I am thankful that today was nice, still cool, but much warmer and the sun felt great! I just look forward to the warmer temps yet to come. If it gets really warm enough I'll take Caden on his first trip to see the Sedgwick County Zoo and show him all the areas his daddy used to work.

For those that went...the Wichita Garden Show was nice and lots of beautiful flowers and gardens, though I know we have had some better gardens in years past, this years were nice to look at...I think I got some good photographs tonight though. It was a nice day for my birthday. Thanks for any and all well wishes!

Ross, thats awesome to hear that you finally got a new addition to the KWCH Storm Team, welcome Ayna, I'm sure you'll be a great asset to the team! It is also great that you got someone hired just in time for all the spring storms, which this season may prove to be a hectic one. Well T-Minus 9 days in counting (as of 3/09/08) until the first official day of SPRING, though it is definately nice that it feels this way NOW!

Have a great week everyone! I am still lookin' forward to the weather special and the storm spotter session at Northwest High School on the 11th!!!! Keep blogging everyone! Its great to hear from EVERYONE!
